Help Save Radlett from the Hertsmere Local Plan

Hi everyone!

A group of residents have set up a ‘Save Radlett’ group and page to highlight what the proposed plans by the council mean to us all! Please join our group and invite your neighbours!

We have until 6th December to object the plans of building almost 1000 homes on our green belt land, which is a colossal 28% more homes within 15 years! This comes at a huge cost of losing 138 acres of our beautiful green belt that so many of us moved here to enjoy! Within the plans are traveller sites that will be opposite Fairfield school. The small country Lane that I live on they propose to add an additional 300% more houses! We have lost our police station and fire station over the years and they are looking to increase our population significantly without these resources. As we all know traffic and parking is already a problem in our villages, the current infrastructure will not support all of these additional homes. The plans will also cause major disruption to current residents, increase in noise pollution and harm our local wildlife and their current habitats.

How many of you knew about these plans before you saw the posts on Facebook?! I for one did not and still have not received a leaflet through my door to inform me. Also email your views to MP Oliver Dowden [email redacted], and Councillor Harvey Cohen who is responsible for these plans on [email redacted].uk and Caroline Clapper who is also involved on [email redacted].uk.

We are seeing this as not just a short term get together of some concerned local residents, but we are all committed to seeing this through until the Plan is hopefully withdrawn by 2023. We will continue to raise awareness and do everything we can, to bring this appalling Plan to the attention of each and everyone, living, working and commuting in and around Radlett and all the surrounding villages.
