Help Sergio and E find a new place to live

Hi everyone,

On December 1, my landlord gave us a 60 day Notice to Vacate our 2bd room rental. We were on a 1 year lease and I have expressed that we were interested in renewing our lease and staying at the property long term. This was communicated early on but unfortunately on December 1st, the landlord surprised us with a notice to vacant the property so they could move in.

The irony of this situation is that while I cover stories from tenants in similar situations, I never thought I would become a story as well. Fresno doesn't have just cause evictions or any strong renter protection laws. We are at the whim of our landlords.

Now I find myself scrambling to find a new home amidst this housing crisis and the holidays. I need help with funds to cover the deposit and first month's rent for our new home. I would like to provide as smooth of a transition as possible for my son, especially during this time of year.

I know the timing sucks all around. You are likely spending money for the holidays and might also be struggling with raising rent in our city.

This might be a shot in the dark but I need to try to ask for help so I won't be in a bad financial spot come the end of the year. Any amount helps.
