Help support Rose through her cancer battle

I am reaching out to all of Rose's family, friends, and kind strangers reading this to please join together to support this amazing women during the biggest fight for her life against this horrible Cancer.
My name is Jade, I am a close friend to Rose, or as Rose tells me- her adapoted sister. I have taken it upon myself to start this appeal for her, as she is too selfless and shy to ask for this much needed help herself.
In April 2017 Rose and her family's life was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer.
She underwent 6 weeks of painful chemotherapy and radiation, before having surgery in October which removed the cancer. Unfortunately due to the size of the tumor, part of Rose's bowel had to be removed, leaving her with a permanent stoma and colostomy bag. Following the surgery, she then endured an additional 6 months of chemotherapy. Finally Rose was given the all clear and cancer free in July 2018. This was the long awaited news we had all been praying for!
Unfortunately the joy we all felt at the prospect of our dear Rose being cancer free was short lived.
Rose was in increasing pain and despite what the doctors said, she knew something was not right. In November 2018, the thing she feared the most was confirmed, the cancer had reared its ugly head again.
The doctors informed Rose that the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes in her groin. Now classed at stage 4 aggressive cancer, The doctors informed Rose that chemotherapy has no effect on her cancer and her only option for treatment is a high risk surgery. It was clear that Rose has a big fight on her hands.
The doctors warned Rose that the surgery to remove the tumor would be high risk, due to the major arteries and nerves so close to the tumour. The odds of even surviving the surgery would be 50/50, and the odds of having irreparable nerve damage to her leg would be 50/50. But without removing the tumor her odds were zero.
Rose being the power house woman she is said, I will have the surgery, and I will survive this, it is not my time to go.
Fast forward the clock to now, I am pleased to say Rose underwent the surgery one week ago, and survived, just like she said she would! She is still recovering in hospital.
The surgeons are confident all of the tumor was removed from sciatic nerve. Unfortunately in doing so has left Rose with permanent nerve damaged and impaired movement to one of her legs. This will make rehabilitation back home and doing daily tasks very difficult for her.
Realizing this debilitating change to her body, on top of still adjusting to living with a stoma, this has been very emotional and scary for Rose to come to terms with over the past week.
We are hopeful that with on going Physiotherapy she may regain enough movement over time to walk unassisted again.
Unfortunately due to Rose being from New Zealand, and not having Australian citizenship, she is not entitled to any government funded assistance such a Physiotherapy once she is discharged from hospital. These treatments have to be paid for in full by Rose and her partner Mark, which unfortunately with Rose unable to work, is not something they cannot afford.
The additional challenge of both their family's still living in New Zealand, means support for Rose, Mark and Aroha is limited.
As much as we all pray that this is the end of Rose's cancer battle, we are realistic that given the cancer started in her bowel, and spread to her Lymph nodes, it is possible it may return elsewhere in her body down the track.
Because of this, urgent medical tests and treatment by private oncology specialists will be paramount to giving Rose the best possible chance of a full recovery. All of which a very costly, making it not an option for Rose currently.
For those of you who are lucky enough to know Rose, you would know what a beautiful soul she is! How she is always giving and caring for those around her, whether it be with her time, money, acts of service, her positive words of advice, or simply an ear to listen. She will never say no when someone is in need! She never complains, never expects anything in return, and never thinks there is a problem that is too great.
Rose, she has had to bear more than most would in a lifetime. But many around her do not know this as she will rarely speak of her own misfortunes, you will always see her with a smile on her face, a grateful heart, and determination in her eyes. Rose is a fighter!
But she has fought so long now and the road ahead for her is very steep, so she needs us all to give her a hand up now, and show her this time it's her turn to be looked after.
At only 49 years young, Rose has much left to accomplish in this life, the most important one to Rose is raising her 12 year old daughter Aroha.
Rose and Aroha have a mother/ daughter bond like I have not seen before. They have been by each others side through everything, they are each others best friends, and Rose has always made it her mission in life to protect Aroha from any harm and hurt.
Aroha needs her mum so much at this delicate age in life, and being faced with losing each other too soon is unfathomable.
The money we raise together for Rose will help cover the growing medical expenses her family are still yet to face. Costs for vital ongoing physio treatment to help regain movement in her leg, mobility aides, stoma care, further chemotherapy, medication, and doctors appointments, just to name a few.
If we can raise $10k this will give Rose the basic medical assistance needed for the first 6 months post discharge from hospital.
If we are blessed enough to exceed our initial goal of $10k, this will allow Rose to receive specialist private oncology treatment, which she cannot access through our public health system.
All of the above mentioned can only be achieved with your generosity. I plead for you to help out however much you can, even if it's only small, every dollar counts for Rose and making a difference In her future.
It's now Rose's time to be cared for! Please help our girl kick this cancer for good!
