Marc Gunn needs your help for oral surgery!
My name is Jes, I am starting this GoFundMe for a man & his wife that touched my heart. First, a little background on Marc. He was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He grew up in a military family, & his father was a Marine; that served two tours in Vietnam. Marc tried to follow in his father’s foot steps when he was of age, but due to his back issues he was not accepted into the Marine Corps. Later in life he went on to become a correction officer in Arkansas & then a White County Sheriff’s Deputy, along with other law enforcement jobs over the span of 10 years. After meeting his wife he relocated to Colorado & has been married for 17yrs & share 2 children. He is 51 yrs old.
Unfortunately, he has not been in the best health for the last few years. He has had 3 back surgeries and had a heart attack at 39. Last October he was rushed from the rural town of Ellicott to Colorado Springs where he had emergency surgery for a peptic ulcer caused by H. Pylori that ruptured. He had peritonitis & was septic. His abdomen was full of bile & infection. Thankfully he made it to surgery in time & pulled through. It was a long road to recovery for him. Marc was left with an 8 inch open wound that had to heal from the inside out, they called it a gram patch. His wife Becky & brother Kyle worked around the clock to keep the home as clean as possible & the wound dressing changed.
Since then Marc has lost about 45 more pounds, due to the chronic vomiting that had led up to this ulcer rupturing & having vitamin deficiencies. His teeth and the bones of his jaw are deteriorating & becoming infected. He is in severe pain, he needs oral surgery and has been quoted around $11,000 for this. They need to pull all of his teeth, shave down the upper and lower mandible and get him dentures. If left untreated the infections that will continue to happen can be fatal.
His wife Becky Gunn came into my life when I started working with her at a local orthopedic group. She is one of the most amazing people I have met & so is her husband. They are kind & hard working people. Marc’s wife has been with her current employer for almost 8 years. I had the pleasure of meeting Marc last fall & then again for the holidays. He is so funny & intelligent, as well as an amazing artist.
With all that aside, the way he loves his wife and the way she loves him truly touched my heart. They are the best of friends & meant to be with one another. A love like what they have is hard to come by now days. It’s very uplifting to witness.
What I am asking is for all of you amazing people out there to do whatever you can to help them! We have to get Marc his surgery! We need help him live a long pain free life with his wife, brother & children. We can’t let this end in a way that could be prevented. He worked hard to protect & serve us, the people, & now it’s time to help protect him.
I know times are tough, trust me. I know with gas prices & inflation, it is getting harder and harder to make ends meet. They do have insurance but that doesn’t cover much, especially dental.
Please do what you can, even if that means passing this on and sharing it like crazy. We have to help this family.

Marc is a deserving person for this. Let’s help end his suffering now! Let’s help this man be able to reach his golden years and enjoy the rest of his life!

7/24/22 UPDATE: Marc has been experiencing quite a bit of pain in his mouth over the last couple months which has led to him not being able to eat his food and more weight loss.
He doesn’t have any more weight to lose at this point.
It would be greatly appreciated even if you cannot donate to please share this go fund me as much as you can.
We are forever grateful to everyone that donated this far but we have not gotten close to our goal when we really need to get him help.
Please help spread the word there has to be somebody out there that can assist even more.
