Help the Hopper’s with mounting debts

Hi my name is Anthony Hopper, I’m a soldier with the United States Army, currently stationed in North Carolina. I am married and have two children. In 2019, we moved from California (where I’m from) out to North Carolina. We blindly purchased our first home and in our opinion we’re taken advantage of. Since moving into this home we have had nothing but issues. We lived in the home for about two months before noticing there was water intrusion in our sons room. My father in law and I found the source, ripped down the walls revealing mounds of black mold, rotting wood and structural issues. The leak was in the roof. We temporarily fixed the roof and we completely remodeled my sons room. I spent $8,000 restructuring my sons room to feel comfortable with him sleeping in there again. We waited awhile before finally having to replace our metal roof. The roof ended up costing us $11,300 and had to finance all of it due to not having that money. Mind you our insurance would not cover any of this and all legal pursuits were not beneficial. Now in 2021 after all that we had decided to post our house for sale to get out of it and to downsize since I am getting out of the Army. The buyers had an inspection done and found $20,000 worth of foundational issues that we were unprepared for. My family and I have struggled for years, especially after having lost both of my parents between 2016-2018, having to move around due to the military. I have never asked anyone for help but I no longer know what to do in order to not struggle mentally and financially at this point.
