Help the Whitfield Family & Preemie Baby Cooper

On December 21st my sister Ashley Whitfield's water broke unexpectedly at just 29 weeks pregnant. She went to Archbold in town and was later transported to Phoebe Medical Center in Albany, GA. Luckily, once she was settled at Phoebe they were able to stop the contractions with magnesium and gave her 3 rounds of steroids to accelerate baby Cooper’s lung development. As of right now Cooper is still safe and has not been born yet. Ashley has to remain on bed rest in the hospital in hopes to keep him safely in her stomach until 34 weeks. Then the plan will be to take him by c-section on January 30th. He will most likely need NICU care but we are praying that his time in the NICU will be minimal. While baby Cooper is in NICU Ashley and Keith will have to travel back and forth to Phoebe an hour away from their home to see him and/or get hotel rooms to stay as close to baby Cooper as possible. Those non-medical expenses will stack up quickly. I wanted to start a gofundme to help provide assistance to their family during this unexpected time. Ashley is a hairstylist in Tallahassee, FL and in her line of work if you aren’t working you are not generating an income. With the way the economy is today, living off of one income is almost impossible if you are not prepared for it. Ashely being out of work unexpectantly for an unforeseeable amount of time means their family will have to make some hard decisions about what their future will look like. I am hoping by creating this gofundme that maybe it could soften this blow life has thrown at them so they can focus on keeping baby Cooper as safe as possible.
