This is a film about three dysfunctional criminals caught up in a love triangle. It's about delusional thinking, it's about jealousy and control, it's about the dangers of creating romantic fantasies about someone, and it's about three losers obsessed with themselves.
My name is Mason Dodson, I'm a filmmaker in Boise, Idaho. I've been making films since I was 13 years old. I graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a film degree, the first in my family to graduate from college. After that I moved to Los Angeles where I worked as a production assistant, art department assistant, camera transportation, a gaffer, a grip, and an actor. When Covid stopped the world I decided to move to Idaho to be closer to my dad who had lived in Boise for years. What I found was an amazing community of talented, passionate filmmakers desperate for more. Since being here we have created several notable pieces, our award winning film Yours Truly, Marguerite, which took first place at the 13 Stories Film Competition hosted by the Old State Penitentiary. Most recently it screened in Cannes at the Idaho Films in France Screening.
After that with the help of a private investor we sought out to create a classic noir film, called One Last Dance which will premiere summer of 2023. And most recently in February I directed Tavanovich, an award winning dark comedy, for the Idaho Film Family Film Festival.

This film, Sweet Chorus Dolores is about three criminals caught up in dysfunction as they attempt to build notoriety and infamy. Dolores, Johnny, and Jackie are working their way up in the criminal circuit, robbing homes and small businesses, but they want something bigger, they want First National Bank. But when their fence and criminal associate, Harry, refuses to give them the job, they take matters into their own hands, leading Johnny to misinterpret Dolores' feelings for him, and ultimately betraying his partner in crime, Jackie, leaving him for dead in the Bank Vault. Leaving Jackie alive turns out to be the biggest mistake Johnny could make as Jackie seeks his revenge with a bloodthirsty vengeance.
I've worked on this script for 6 years. I never thought it'd be possible to make. But with the help of the community and the amazing cast and crew attached, the film is coming to life.
When it comes to funding, the good news is we are saving a lot of money on this film through volunteer work and donated time. We have so many wonderful businesses working with us on this project! The Fork Restaurant, Combat Sport Supply, Treefort, No New Vintage, Mad Swede Brewery, and more.
Understanding this is a micro-budget short film, many have signed on as volunteers to be apart of the cast and crew. The Boise Film Community continues to inspire and amaze me.
The budget for our film is broken down here:
