Help us Honor Matthew Montebello's Memory

Hi, my name is Dillon Maquindang and I am the brother-in-law of Matthew Montebello. On November 16, 2024, my family experienced a devastating tragedy that resulted in the loss of 4 family members that included Matthew along with 4 of our cherished doggies. He was shot and put into a vegetative state right beside the love of his life where he is now awaiting for his organs to be donated as he would have wanted. Losing him and majority of my family, it feels hard to even navigate life without the guidance of him and my older siblings.

Matthew was an older sibling to me and a great role model who showed me to expect the best for myself whether it came to relationships or my aspirations. He genuinely showed what a healthy relationship through how much he genuinely loved and cared for my brother Janvi. Matthew was a great brother and loving son, always considering his own family and setting aside time despite their distance. He was a great artist and musician, who was able to convey his reality and memories through his work. Matthew was just as his brother said, "a ray of sunshine," that you were able to feel his warm presence the moment he entered the room, lighting a smile to everyone who was there. Most of all, he was intelligent, constantly helping me with math homework and filled with knowledge that you could ask him anything in regards to any topic especially in science.

With him being gone with my older sister, older brother, and my brother-in-law, we can only pray that we smoothly transition him to the afterlife where we can say hello again because it will never be a goodbye. This is only a fraction of his being, words cannot truly describe how precious Matthew was to every individual he met and connected with.
