<div>Last March 3, 2024, early in the morning, my Tatay had a heated argument with someone which led to him being stabbed four times. He sustained 3 stab wounds on his left arm and 1 on his left flank. He was immediately brought to the nearest district hospital for immediate medical attention, but we were advised by the medical personnel that he needs to be transferred to a bigger hospital because there was a possibility that his kidney was injured as his urine was already bloody.

<div>We then transferred him to a private hospital and underwent CT scan to confirm if his left kidney was injured. The scan was released and the ER doctor on duty advised us that Tatay needed to undergo exploratory laparotomy to repair the kidney. On that same day, Tatay underwent the operation. 
</div>

<div>After operation, the surgeon and anesthesiologist informed us that they were able to perform the exlap and that Tatay will be transferred to the ICU for close monitoring. He was intubated that time because when they tried to remove the tube, seemingly, Tatay could not breathe on his own.
</div>

<div>As we were in the ICU, some complications came up. He had severe pneumonia and post op adhesion so the set of doctors taking care of Tatay advised us that he needed to undergo under exlap to fix his intestines with the hope that it will make him better.  He also needed to undergo tracheostomy as the tube may have caused more infections. He had the operation on March 12, 2024.

<div>As of now, March 26, 2024, we are still admitted in the ICU because we still cannot wean Tatay from the ventilator. His doctors already gave him the ultimatum of antibiotics to cure his pneumonia. He is responding well with the medicines but still he needs to be on critical care.
