Help My Family with Exodus from Afghanistan

Donation protected
Hi family and friends, as you know the situation in Afghanistan is getting worst before it gets better with a looming humanitarian catastrophe and insecurity. When the crisis hit, I had eight members of my immediate family members in Kabul - six of my siblings and my parents. With the help of great humans from inside and outside the country, we managed to get three of them out - two sisters and one brother - who were at high risk. Now one sister is in Europe, another sister is in Africa alongside my brother but in two separate countries.

The good news is that three of them are out and that my family in Kabul has enough food to eat for the next month or so and they have a shelter above their head. However, they live in a high-risk environment and like many other Afghans, they are under de facto house arrest in an atmosphere of fear. My two sisters who are students at Kabul University, barely put their foot out of the door.  One who tried hard to get into the medical university and hoped to become a surgeon is in her third year of medical school. The other sister is in her forth year BA in English literature. My younger brother who had just past Kabul university entry exam is also unsure about his future.  My parents in their 60s are concerned about their children’s safety and future, especially the two girls and their dreams that now have shuttered.

Right now my goal is to get my family out to a safer country, perhaps to Central Asia or Turkey, then see if they can migrate somewhere else. Thus far I have managed to get them food and everything else they need, but to move out five people from Afghanistan to a safer country will cost a lot of money. One quote I got from a security company contact was around $50,000 to only a neighboring country. To take them to Turkey will cost double the price. That is a ridiculous amount but it is $10k+ per person and we cannot put a price tag on human life.

I am trying to find the cheapest, legit and safest  option possible with the limited resources I have and perhaps with some fundraising. If you can chip in, please do so, if not, your kind thoughts will also suffice. Your contribution will get 5 people passports, visas, plane tickets, ground transportation, food and accommodation perhaps for a couple of weeks. Most importantly, your help will bring an entire family to safety.

Update 1:

While we are assessing the situation and waiting for the official passport department to reopen and for embassies to issue visas, here is a news on the ridiculous visa and etc costs.

One neighboring country, Pakistan, doesn’t even allow Afghans with visas and ask them to get a special permission (gate pass) costing $500+ per person to just cross the border. One way airline ticket cost from Kabul to Islamabad is $1500 to $2000 per person.  Other border crossings like to Central Asia are in a similar situation or worst (completely closed). https://twitter.com/mohsinamin_/status/1442492692768825349?s=21
