Help with pets medical bills after a hit and run

Hi, I’m David and we are raising money to help pay for medical bills after our grandson’s dog was hit by a driver on November 10th. My wife and I are dog sitting for our grandson when his dog got of the leash and ran when our other grandson was taking him out. Currently our medical bills total $7,000. and she is in surgery right now. We could really use some assistance. Any extra money will be donated to others in need of assistance.
