Helping Laurie Coffey

My siblings and I wanted to start this fundraiser for our Mom, Laurie Coffey. On May 14th, Mother's Day, Laurie was at Binghamton University for our brothers graduation. Shortly after the graduation while taking pictures, our Mom ended up hurting her left leg. She immediately fell to the ground in so much pain. She was then rushed to the hospital in Binghamton where they did an Xray and CT scan. Turns out she broke her tibia bone in her leg. A tibial plateau fracture. It's a very bad break and she is going to need surgery. Laurie stayed at the hospital in Binghamton, about 5 hours away from home, for several days and nights so the swelling could go down. She will be medically transported from Binghamton to a hospital here, at home, on Long Island for her surgery. Our Mom will be out of work for probably 4 to 5 months while she recovers and goes through physical therapy once the surgery is done. This was a very unexpected freak accident that has taken a toll on the family. Laurie, our mom is the head of our house hold and the back bone of our family. It's been very difficult to see her struggling and in so much pain. She has always done so much for us kids as a mother and we want to do everything we can to help her now. Many people keep asking how they can help, this is how. Any amount of money you can donate to help pay the medical bills and to show support for our family would be greatly appreciated.
