Hometown Heroes: Help Palisades Workers

Inspired by the workers who were employed in the Palisades. Housekeepers who no longer have houses to keep. Gardeners who no longer have gardens to garden. The caretakers who nurtured our children and our elderly. We have insurance but they will be hit the hardest. My housekeeper Rosa lost two jobs when her clients' homes burned down. And as she rescued an elderly woman on her own from the Highlands, for which she will never receive the accolades she deserves, she also had to abandon her car to the flames. These funds will help her as well as my gardener Martin, who lost most of the homes he took care of. Just weeks before the fire he encouraged me to prune my trees. My house still stands.

My home is the only home on our side of the street that appears to be standing. My family has no critical needs. For those of you who have reached out I hope you'll consider making a donation to our precious employees, and others who have been the backbone of our community.

I'm creating a spreadsheet and will distribute funds in order of need.

Love to all my friends who lost everything they owned. No one can take away our memories, nor our community spirit. We will survive.
