Honoring Marissa: A Fund for Everlee & George

Marissa Leann Livingston, affectionately known as Rissa or Issy, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on May 8, 2024, at the young age of 28. Born in Mobile, Alabama on October 8, 1995, to Margo Rice Livingston and Billy Jerry Whatley JR and then adopted dad of April 17, 2013, Michael Todd Livingston. Marissa was a light in the lives of all who knew her.

Marissa's kind heart and radiant smile were her trademarks, earning her the love and admiration of all who knew her. Her work as a CNA was a testament to her selfless nature and her desire to make the world a better place. Most of all, she loved being a mother, which was her reason for her gathered strength and passion for life.

Sadly, Marissa’s journey was cut short, and she is now reunited with her maternal grandfather, George Marvin Rice, and her paternal grandmother, Paula Louise Whatley and Jan Livingston, Aunt, Kelley Whatley who predeceased her. Her spirit, however, lives on in the hearts of those she left behind. Marissa is deeply missed by her children, Everlee & George. Her parents, Margo Livingston, Jerry Whatley, stepmother Tammy Whatley and adoptive father Todd Livingston, soon to be step-father, Eric Allen Petz; her sisters, Madelon (Maddie) Livingston and Breanna (Bre) Livingston, Peyton Whatley, Jamie Hicks, nephew Graham; and a host of extended family members, her best friend Heather and many other friends who were blessed to know her.

A celebration of Marissa’s life will be held in the remembrance of Marissa with details to come later.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the college funds for Everlee and George, her children, which were the single purpose of her life.

Marissa’s life, though brief, was a beacon of love, joy, and kindness. She will forever be remembered for her radiant spirit and the positive impact she had on everyone she met.
