Honoring Michael: Fund for Final Farewell

Friends & Family;

It is with a heavy heart, that I reach out to you all today and ask for help.

As many of you know, June 16th was a very hard day - as we lost our dear friend, loving son/brother/uncle/family member: Anthony Micheals (aka Miguel Cortez Jr/Michael) unexpectedly.

Anyone who knows Michael knows this:

His kindess/caringness to others was unmatched - people often say someone would "give the shirt off their back" - well, Micheal was a pure example of this. He truly and honestly did this, and he did as often as he could. Even if that made him give something up of his own. He just wanted to positively impact those around him.

He was a man of his word, could light up a room with his contageous personality (and great jokes), he wrote of his challenges thru beautiful songs, and he was proud to serve his Country after many tours.

He shared his stories with so many of us, and truly enjoyed (at one time) being surrounded by his many groups of friends/family.

And that's just a very small part of what made him such a beautiful person.

His struggle over the years has been harder than most, and unfortunately the services provided by the VA proved not as helpful as we'd all hope.

And that's why today (with his mom's permission) I ask that you please help us raise funds to lay him to rest. His passing was absolutely not expected, and I honestly want to help his family through this hard time. He absolutely deserves the best, and would not want to put a burden on his family during this tragic time.

While the VA may provide some level of service, it will not be enough to cover all costs.

Any money raised will go direct to Solimine Funeral Home. If we manage to raise more than needed, the extra will help with any extra costs incurred by the family at this time, turned over to his mom for her best intentions.
