Honoring Terry Scott Price: Help with Funeral Costs
Donation protected
Terry Scott Price passed away on September 27, 2024, at home with classic rock playing, and “mini jr” and his daughter by his side. Born November 29, 1960, he was a self-described “redneck hippie” who embraced simplicity and believed worrying only made things worse. After years of working for others, he founded Middleburg Garage Door as owner/operator, taking pride in his work and never forgetting where a service call took him. Terry rarely met a stranger and saw many he encountered as family, with countless “adopted children” along the way. His late wife Lori may have influenced this, but as he would say, “No need to argue, she’s going to do it anyway.”
Terry was known for opening his door to anyone in need and ensuring there was always enough to eat. That went for human and animal life, especially dogs. His homes in Middleburg, NC, and Columbia, VA, welcomed visitors for years, filled with laughter and conversation. He was a generous man, non-judgmental, and his acceptance of all left a lasting impact on generations. One of his legacies was a game he created called “That’s you for the day,” blending sign language and love, which continued to be played by many.
Terry had a passion for “good” music, often sharing the history of the bands he listened to, one of the most memorable being The Eagles. His favorite band was The Grateful Dead. In his youth, he was a rebellious free spirit, hitchhiking across the country and collecting stories that defined him. His unconventional lifestyle ultimately led to his passing, but he stood by his choices and wasn’t shy about it.
Losing a parent is hard enough, but taking on the expenses associated with a funeral makes it so much harder. Michelle Walker is the person who never says no to anyone. She truly would give you the shirt off her back. She is always willing to do the heavy lifting no matter what else she has going on. This time let's be there for her to lean on.
