Hope Amidst Chaos in Sudan

Hi, my name is Khalil and I'm fundraising for the Hisham family. The Hisham family was shattered by the relentless civil war that engulfed their beloved homeland. As the conflict intensified, the Hishams faced unimaginable challenges—bombings, food shortages, and the constant fear that loomed over their once vibrant community. With nothing but a few belongings and the weight of their painful past, the Hishams embarked on a perilous journey to escape the violence into Port Sudan where the area is full of army militia which can imprison, harm, or possibly even kill you at a moment's notice.
As the conflict in Sudan continues to escalate, the Hishams find themselves living in constant fear, facing unimaginable challenges each day. Bombings, food shortages, and the ever-present threat of danger have become their harsh reality.
We have the opportunity to make a significant impact on this family's life by contributing to their journey to safety. The funds raised will go towards providing the Hisham family with the means to escape the war zone, seek refuge in a neighbouring country, and rebuild their lives free from the immediate threats that surround them.
Your generous donations will specifically support:
Safe Passage: Facilitating the family's safe and secure journey across borders to reach a place of refuge.
Shelter: Providing immediate shelter for the Hishams, ensuring they have a safe space to begin the process of rebuilding their lives.
Basic Necessities: Assisting with the procurement of essential items such as food, clean water, clothing, and medical supplies for the family.
Education and Well-being: Ensuring the family has access to education and emotional support to help them cope with the trauma they've experienced.
Legal Support: Assisting the Hisham family in navigating the complex process of seeking asylum and establishing a new life in a foreign land.
How the funds will be used:
- 2 members of the Hisham family plan to use their collective savings and the funds raised here to apply to the Diversity Visa Lottery with the hopes of attending school in Kentucky.
- 50/50 rule. 50% of raised funds will be sent immediately, while the other half will remain in savings in case the situation worsens.
Thank you for your kindness, and generosity, and for being a source of hope for the Hisham family.
Concerning the wishes of individuals in the Hisham family, we have decided not to name them publicly to aid in the needed protection of their identity given the existing political landscape.
With gratitude,
Khalil Elkarib
