Ica's Memorial Fund

My mom, Ica, somehow managed to drive here to Illinois from Florida. As soon as she showed up to my home on Thursday October 19th 2017, I realized something was very wrong. Her eyes were yellow, she was much thinner, and she was very weak. I then drove her to the closest ER. From there they transported her to a bigger hospital. She was then diagnosed with acute liver failure. They started her on steroids a couple days after she arrived. After having been on the steroids a week, the doctor informed me and my family that she was not responding to the treatments. That ultimately there was nothing they could do for her. The main goal at this point, is to keep her comfortable. The doctor said she will go peacefully without pain. In this tragic week, my family has discovered she no longer has health care or life insurance. As tough as this has been to discuss we have asked her exactly what she wants at her funeral. I am her only child, I also have two children of my own ages 6 & 11. As a family we intend to fulfill her last wishes. We decided making this page would help try and get things somewhat in order. Any type of donation towards this helps. Thank you so much for reading our story.
