UPDATE ON BILL--FEBRUARY 2021
Bill Crispin has spent his adult life helping others. In his law practice he fought to help farmers and against injustice that jeopardized their farms. Bill co-founded Fix Them All (fixthemall.org) so he and his wife, Eve, could follow their passion and help animals in a big way. He was a champion for the underdogs, a fierce advocate of doing the right thing, a good caretaker of Mother Earth and a lover of the beauty in the natural world.
March 6, 2021 will mark one year since Bill suffered a near fatal heart attack that left him with a hypoxic brain injury and in a state of dementia. This has been a true odyssey for Bill.
On the heart issue, Bill had a defibrillator surgically implanted on November 20 to support his weak heart. His cardiologist has discovered genetic markers that could mean future trouble and is working on a plan to change medications to address this, but that medication has a $20,000 price tag.
His neurologist has sent him to numerous specialists to try and diagnose his specific injury and chances for recovery. It has been pinpointed that the hippocampus was damaged during the event. This is an area not seen in MRIs or other imaging.
His in-home therapy needs continue. There are additional therapy programs he could participate in that might help, but the cost is high. Insurance coverage for therapies is limited and most costs for this are out of pocket.
First and foremost, your continued emotional support is greatly appreciated.
His wife, Eve, has been unable to work or be involved with their charity because Bill requires full time care. Eve has been very proactive during this period in raising money to pay medical bills, in-home therapy and living expenses. There has been almost no income in the last year. Their savings has dwindled. Bill will never be able to work again and Eve will continue to care for him.
We have determined the cost for in-home therapy, insurance premiums, medical bills and some living expenses for the next year.
If you would like to help them avoid further depleting their savings please make a contribution to their fund. Even a small amount can help. The hope is that within the next year Bill recovers somewhat and Eve is able to once again resume working and bringing an income to the family, as well as resume participation with the charity they both love so much.
The prayers, love, help and support people have sent has been a lifesaver and the family is extremely grateful. Asking for help has been challenging for this couple, who normally would be giving help to others. If any of you have been touched by their kindness, experienced their generosity of spirit or benefited from their love, please consider helping Bill and Eve. If you have already donated please know how grateful they are and how much this means to them.
Thank you for all your continued support.
