In Loving Memory of Agnes Ratcliffe

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I am creating this GoFundMe. The course of our lives have been forever altered once again by an untimely, unexpected, and unfair loss.
On the evening of October 11, 2023, our sister, daughter, partner, mother, and friend, Agnes Ratcliffe died suddenly of a heart attack. She was 37 years old. Although she had some risk factors for heart disease, it came as a shock and there were no warning signs.
She is remembered fondly by, Bruce, their son, 3 year old Bruno. Agnes was tragically predeceased by her eldest daughter, Audrey, in November 2022 and our little sister, Melinda, in June 2023. This has been an awful year of losses for our family and this loss is especially earth shattering for children who who will have to navigate a world without a mummy, after already losing a sister.
A meal train has been started for Bruce to help over the next month. In addition, I am creating this GoFundMe to support Bruce in the immediate future with living expenses while he grieves Agnes and moving forward, to provide ongoing support for the future.
After immediate expenses are covered, funds raised will go towards child care for Bruno when Bruce returns to work, practical support as required by Bruce, and then remaining funds will be held in trust until adulthood.
Agnes had no life insurance or funds for a situation such as this. I urge anyone reading this to consider the worst case scenario and plan for it. In addition, I ask that you donate if you can, share this fundraiser far and wide, and help our community rally together.
This family has suddenly and tragically lost their spouse/mother and we need to ensure that her loved ones receive the support they need in this difficult time.
Bruce lives in Sidney, BC and the sense of community there and in Greater Victoria is strong. Outpours of support for the meal train and other offers are already coming in.
