In Memory of Kelly: Support Her Funeral Costs and Daughters

Hello, this is Alex and Sam, the daughters of Kelly Garcia Collins. We lost our mom, Kelly, who passed away on Monday late afternoon, June 24, 2024 after battling kidney and liver failure, complications from an unsuccessful surgery. Kelly had been suffering for many years from various medical conditions but her strength, sense of humor and resilience were one of the many demonstrations of her fighter mentality. Despite her physical difficulties and financial struggles, she always showed up for us and did her best. She showed us unconditional love and acceptance. Our father passed away suddenly in August 2022 as we were both embarking on our UC college educations. Without a father and a mother, we are in need of financial support for our mother’s funeral, continuing our education and housing. Education was important to both of our parents. Our mother was a proud UC Berkeley graduate and was fluent in Spanish, English, Italian and French. She enjoyed traveling around the world and trying new foods.
