In Memory of Mr. Mike: Supporting the Gant Family

As you may have seen from Dr. Martin, Principal of Captain Elementary earlier today...

"It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved former lead custodian, Mr. Mike, who passed away peacefully yesterday evening.

Mr. Mike dedicated 20 years to the School District of Clayton, with 13 of those years spent fostering a welcoming environment at Captain Learning Community. He retired in December of 2023, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and care.

Recently, we spoke with Mr. Mike's wife, Mrs. Carla Gant. She shared how much Mr. Mike cherished the connections he built at Captain. Every interaction with parents, teachers, and especially the students brought a smile to his face."

We are creating this GoFundMe page to support Mrs. Gant and the family during this difficult time. Any donation, big or small, will be used to help alleviate financial burdens associated with Mr. Mike's passing.

More than just a custodian, Mr. Mike was a friend and a familiar face who brightened the halls of Captain. Let's show our Captain Community spirit and support the Gant family in their time of need.

All donations will be transferred to the Captain Elementary PTO bank account and we will write a check for the full amount of donations to Mr. Mike’s wife, Mrs. Carla Gant.
