International Gap Year: Middle East & New Zealand

Hello friends and family! I am planning on taking a gap year this August after I graduate from Cicero Preparatory Academy in May. For my gap year I plan to do two different young adult discipleship programs. First is with an Antioch Network ministry partner in a country in the Middle East. It is a three month intensive program where I will read the entire Bible and Qur’an (Koran) and focus on inter-cultural ministry. I will learn how to communicate the gospel through word and deed among the many nations that live there.

The second part of my gap year I will be participating in a Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Outdoor Discipleship Training (ODTS) program. These programs focus on first cultivating a student who is spiritually mature. In the first three months, I will learn how to follow God's calling and listen to the Holy Spirit’s voice. I will be constantly immersed into God’s creation, learning how to collaborate with God. I will learn how to see, worship, and listen to God through Scripture and creation as well as growing into becoming a steward of creation. This will lead into the last two months of the YWAM program which is serving. The location of where I will be serving with YWAM is to be determined.

Both programs will equip me with the characteristics of a disciple as well as practical skills for ministry. My hope is to continue to grown in Christ-likeness. I would love spiritual support through your prayers as well as financial support to help me cover the costs of these ministry programs.

I believe this international missions training will not only equip me for a life of following and serving Jesus, but also better prepare for my college experience.
