My name is Jessica Pieczynski and I am a Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. This past year I have been working with my senior design group in order to develop a device that protects power wheelchair users from weather conditions.
After completing our design, my group submitted our design to the World Congress of Biomechanics conference. We were just informed that our group was one of six undergraduates groups to be selected to present all the work we have been doing this past year on our project in Dublin, Ireland at the conference.
Not only is this a wonderful opportunity for the group to network with people within our field, but it is an opportunity for us to present our design and spread awareness for this issue within the power wheelchair community.
This trip is a wonderful opportunity, but the group would not be able to go without funding. Please help make this experience a reality.
