Our family got some FANTASTIC news! M57 in Montcolm County will now be known as the Joey Prentler Memorial Hwy! Our fallen soilder will forever be rembered by the the county in which he lived! Down fall to this is because the state has already paid to have road signs we now have to pay fo those signs... SOO this is where you come in! It is going to cost a few bucks to make that happen! SOOO let me tell you a little bout our story! So you will be more than willing to give . Even the smallest amount is just fine. Because every pennie ads up to a dollar!
On October 4th 2010 our family was changed forever .. The dreaded KNOCK came every familys worst nightmare has just been realized. My cousin was KIA - Killed in Action. The day a blurr, the month, the year and even now a very haunting thing to think about. He was SO young 20 years old, not old enough to experince life. No children no wife just 20 years old. Really just stating his journey and it was taken.
He was taken because he was serving our country, fighting for our freedoms and doing his "duty" also following his dream. The dream that allot of young kids no longer have to be a soilder to get called up and instead of it being for baseball, football or any crazy thing it was the ultimate call . The call to war.. Going off to Afgainistan with his fellow brothers and sisters . Most of which are now our family! Once your in the Army you never really leave! Funny how that works you have such a bond it just can not be broken!.
Joey was so funny didn't matter who he was around didn't matter what he was doing if he was having a bad day he had a smile. SO with the help of Joeys Aunt, and her Fiance, a little nudge to the State Congressmen and Women and a little signature from Governor Rick Snyder we have a road.. It will run between N.Kent /Montcalm line all the way to Montcalm/Gratiot County line right next to Joeys home he grew up in!
SOO donate! Smile and when you drive on M57 you can think of him!
