In Memory of Jamesora Stanley Pennant

Many of you know Chris's mom, Jamey, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8th after a 6 month battle with cancer. Jamey raised Chris on her own, worked hard to put him through school and give them both a good life; she loved her Church, traveling, British TV and K-Dramas and Apatow comedies, going to her favorite spot in Chinatown for lunch, speaking her mind and keeping her convictions. And she loved Chris.

When Jamey first got sick, Chris paused his yearlong job search to care for her full time. Caring for a loved one with cancer is a costly thing in any circumstance - even moreso when money is already tight. In addition to end-of-life and memorial costs, Chris will also need to cover legal expenses to settle the estate and make sure his mother's wishes are carried out. As his friends, family, and loved ones, we can do our part to help with the financial burden and provide Chris the grace to process his mother's passing without having to worry as much about the expenses.

Funeral home expenses are expected to be around $2,000; legal expenses will likely range from $4,000-$6,000; an additional $2,000 will go toward church honoraria and other memorial-related expenses, as well as any unanticipated costs not covered by the other estimated amounts. Any excess of funds remaining after the memorial and the settling of the estate will be donated to charity.
