Jeff Mattison Tragic Boating Accident-Please Help

On Saturday May 27th Jeff Mattison was involved in a near fatal boating accident on the Cedar River. Jeff was badly injured and unresponsive. He was airlifted to the University of Iowa where they identified a list of major injuries that included a torn aortic valve, collapsed lungs and a broken scapula. The results of his MRI showed no issues with his brain or spine. The neurology team is concerned about damage to his brachial plexus in his left arm. This is the nerve system that controls his arm. It will be 6 weeks until they know if it is permanent damage or what mobility he will have in this arm. Jeff is currently on a ventilator and sedated.

Jeff and the love of his life Andi will be facing a huge financial hardship. Not only with extreme medical expenses but trying to support themselves while Jeff is out of work. Andi is taking time off work to tend to Jeff during this disastrous time. This fund raiser will help them with medical bills, traveling back and forth to the University of Iowa Hospital, and other expenses as they all begin to pile up.

Jeff is well known in the community for his love of music, his on-stage talent is 2nd to none. He has spent a lifetime performing for all of us, and it is now our turn to give back. The hope is that this fundraiser will help Andi to focus on Jeff’s recovery more than this massive financial burden.
