Join Darian's Fight Against APL Leukemia

My name is Paige Lay, I am raising money for my 15-year-old son Darian Lewis who was diagnosed with a rare type of Leukemia called APL/ Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia on 5/27/24. APL is a subtype of Acute Myeloid Leukemia and is a curable cancer with a high chance of survival. Darian and I are staying at Norton Children's Hospital in downtown Louisville throughout his treatment. Darian has stayed strong through this first week and a half after the initial diagnosis and has faith that with the right treatment he will live a long life. Darian was asked by his doctor to join a research group for this type of cancer and he was happy to donate his spinal fluid and bone marrow to be tested so that other people with this cancer would have a better chance of survival. Darian loves animals and biology and hopes to become a Zoologist one day. Living inside a small hospital room with me and getting chemo everyday isn't a great life but he occupies himself by playing on the PS5 and reading Manga. He really needs help right now with basic necessities and asked me to start this account. I have Social Security Disability as my only source of income and every cent that is donated will go toward his needs.

Update, Darian was released and is continuing outpatient chemo. We are living at the Ronald McDonald House in downtown Louisville KY, because our home has black mold that has to be removed and then the house has to be repaired before the doctors will allow him to move back inside our home. We can't afford to repair the home, we have exhausted our funds by having the mold removal company come in. We are homeless after our stay at the Ronald McDonald House is over and we don't know when we will have to leave yet. We are in a very desperate situation.
