Join Us in Supporting Raymundo's Loved Ones

Remembering Raymundo Hernandez Esparza, beloved son to Alma Esparza, and brother to Alma and Adriana. Born in Puebla, Mexico, Raymundo was just 36 years old. He died in Darien, Illinois in September, 2024.

Raymundo was a brilliant mind and gentle soul who worked hard to overcome many obstacles and reach his goals. His grit and determination, along with countless family sacrifices, led him to reach his greatest professional goals, a PhD in Theoretical Chemistry and an opportunity at Argonne National Laboratory. He ventured here alone, like many others, to an unfamiliar place to create a better life for himself and his family. He was just a few days away from going home, when he tragically passed away.

Raymundo's family lives in Mexico and are unable to travel to the U.S. at this time. We are currently assisting them with repatriation so they can take him home where services will be held. Raymundo supported his family financially. During this time of grief for them, we have created this go fund me account to come together as a community to help support them and to send Raymundo home. Tragic events such as this, are a reminder to all of us that our lives and relationships with one another are precious and fleeting.
