Joshua representing Great Britain for WAKO

Hi I am Joshua's mum Nicole and I am fundraising to help towards the cost for Joshua who has qualified to represent Great Britain on behalf of World Association of Kickboxing Organisation (WAKO) in Turkey this August

Kickboxing is a self-funded sport where the family over the years have supported Joshua with his journey and provided him with every opportunity to compete at tournaments, all of this comes at a cost as in kit, travelling expenses and accommodation must be paid by the competitor.

The trip-expense are approximately £3000.00 (£1500.00 PP) which includes accommodation, flights, kit, equipment. The immediacy and short timeframe makes it rather difficult to raise the sum by its submission deadline which is why I have decided to fundraise for donations.

With Joshua being under 18 WAKO require a parent/guardian to attend the event. Joshua’s Sensei Gregg has kindly offered to attend as his guardian, as unfortunately due to the timing I am unable to attend the weeklong event. (26th August – 2nd September 2023).

I wish to fundraise to ensure both can attend as Gregg has been Joshua’s Sensei since he was 5 years old when his passion for Kickboxing began and his dedication, commitment and determination has led to this being his lifestyle. Training for several hours daily, competing regularly at tournaments all over the country and attending squad sessions.

Joshua competed for Great Britain in Hungary at the International Combat Organisation World Champions last year where he won a Gold Medal and became a World Champion which was a well-deserved and fantastic achievement.

Joshua’s continuous hard work, while studying for his GSCE’s and having a Saturday job, has paid off and he has won numerous titles.

Joshua’s success has continued as in February 2023 where he competed at the Nationals, he gained a place to represent Great Britain for WAKO in Turkey.
