In Memory of Juan Manuel Escallon

Donation protected
On his 42nd birthday, Juan Manuel Escallon’s vibrant life was cut short by a glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. Juan’s final year was marked by courage and resilience. His unwavering optimism, kindness, and intelligence left a mark on all who knew him.

Juan leaves a beautiful family behind, led by my sister, their four-year-old son and three-year-old daughter, and Juan’s 13-year-old daughter. In Juan’s final days, I vowed to support my sister and his family and to fight against this devastating disease.

As a tribute to Juan’s enduring spirit and his love of running, I am honoring him with a challenge. On April 21, 2024, I will run the London Marathon, racing 42 kilometers in memory of Juan’s impactful 42 years. My goal is ambitious: to raise $42,000 - $1,000 for each kilometer run. Some of the proceeds raised will support glioblastoma research, and the remaining will support the educational future of Juan’s youngest children, Andres (4) and Alicia (3).

Juan’s family and community rallied to his support after his diagnosis, and this is another opportunity to cement his legacy.

Join me for this challenge by contributing to this fundraising target or through your own running commitment to shine a light on glioblastoma and keep Juan’s memory alive. Let’s make a difference in the lives of those touched by this illness and ensure that Juan’s fight was not in vain.

Help to turn grief into action and hope.

Thank you,
Helena
