Kamarias Wheelchair Van Modification

Hello, my name is Gigi and I'm asking for assistance on behalf of my 14 year old daughter with developmental disabilities. She is wheelchair bound and also currently home bound due to having no handicapped accessible transportation. This has been her reality for the last year since upsizing to a large adult wheelchair with several customizations that require additional space. She is also quite large in stature (5'9" and 168 lbs) so that makes a manual transfer to a vehicle impossible. Her lack of transportation is making it exceptionally difficult to get her to doctors appointments let alone make it possible for her to leave the house. The state is failing those with special needs who require wheelchair transportation due to a lack of wheechair vans in their fleet. This is well established and many are quietly suffering because of it. Kamaria has missed SEVERAL appointments including a procedure at Riley Children's Hospital because the state contracted provider couldn't find a company available with a wheelchair van. She had to wait an additional 6 months for a necessary pain relief procedure because of it. Riley is well aware of this issue and I've had a caseworker involved in attempt to find her rides. I've taken matters into my own hands by purchasing a dodge grand caravan last April with the intentions of having it modified into a wheelchair van so that we no longer have to rely on others to provide her much needed transportation. It passed inspection and was approved for the modification. Kamarias' Thrive Case Worker just secured the vast majority of the funds required under the A&D waiver program ($15,000). For this we are blessed and eternally grateful. The balance remaining required for me to pick up my van upon completion is $2100. I've personally saved $1,000 to apply towards this balance but we still fall $1,100 short at this time. I'm asking for some assistance to get us to the goal amount required so this beautiful girl has the freedom to leave her home and attend important doctors appointments. Any little bit helps.
