Katelyn Medical Bills

Many of you know Katelyn. She is one of my best friends and the mother of three beautiful children. Her heart is pure and she would drop everything to help those she loves. She runs the Cowley pool in the summer and works as a substitute teacher during the school year. Katelyn has struggled to get a diagnosis and has been told "We don't know what's wrong" over and over again. Katelyn cannot do what she loves, teaching kids in Park County and Bighorn County school districts. This difficult journey started early in 2023 and has only gotten progressively worse, and any wins we thought we had turned into losses fairly quickly. At 30 years old, her body is unable to function the way it should, and she has an undiagnosed diagnosis that is not well understood. She was diagnosed with Failure to Thrive after being examined by doctors in Montana, Wyoming, and Utah. Due to her body rejecting everything she eats, Katelyn began experiencing severe seizure episodes at the end of last year due to her body fighting against itself in constant pain and unable to get the nutrients she needs. In December, she was put on a feeding tube and admitted to the hospital for a week to refeed. She now has to be on a feeding tube at all times. Even with the feeding tube, she is not getting everything her body needs and everyday tasks are still extremely difficult. After meeting with a nutritionist, her hope is she will be able to gain weight so that she can regain some semblance of normal function in her body. It's still unclear what her condition is, she needs some financial help to ease the burden of weekly doctor appointments and endless tests. The road ahead for Katelyn is still long and uphill.
