Kay & Anaiah - Norfolk State University

Hi -

My name is Bre, and I am raising money for two incoming freshmen at Norfolk State University - my alma mater!

Makailah & Anaiah are bestfriends, and scholars. They both graduated Bellflower High School in Southern California with honors (3.9 & 3.8, respectively) - so when it came time to choose a college, I was oh so happy to recommend my beloved Green & Gold.

Unfortunately, despite their grades and being awarded Presidential Scholarship, as of today, there is a current balance due of almost $1,900 for both girls. If not paid by Friday, 5pm - both girls will be dropped from their classes and not be allowed to move into the dorms on Saturday.

So I'm initiating this on faith - as an alumni of NSU, I firmly believe that we can and will make sure these girls get the help they need.

Makailah is planning to major in early childhood education, and follow the path of her father, a middle-school teacher and administrator.

Anaiah is planning to major in Biology; Anaiah wants to be a doctor.

What's special to me about these two young ladies is their character. I have known Makailah since she was a baby, and I have never known a better-behaved child. In a world that encourages our kids to be dishonest and rebellious, Kay's love of family, community, and work ethic is beyond impressive.

And as best friends, Anaiah and Makailah's dream has always been to attend an HBCU (Historically Black College) together.
