Keep K9 Bullet with handler

K9 Bullet has been with handler Tiffany Yarbrough for 4 years. Upon leaving a full time position in October of 2017 an agreement was reached to allow Yarbrough and Bullet to stay on together in a reserve capacity. It was agreed that Yarbrough would be responsible for all financial care of Bullet (vetting and food). On January 31 Yarbrough was told that her partner would be put up for surplus by the direction of the towns attorney. This would allow Bullet to be sold to the highest bidder. Even though Bullet has medical issues that would allow retirement, Yarbrough was told her partner is just another item belonging to the city and due to an ordinance must be sold in this matter. All money raised will go towards keeping bullet safe at home with his only handler and best friend as well as his immediate medical care.

UPDATE:  the city council was unaware of the decision to put bullet up for surplus. They are looking into the matter. Please pray they make the right decision and leave Bullet with his handler. No other K9 with the department has had to be put up like this. They all got to stay with their owner.
