Kelly Holaday Brackett lived a life that mattered. Kelly infused her love for those closest to her in small trinkets and gifts that constantly said I love you. Her car was often packed to the brim with treasures she found for others, and she was constantly scanning second-hand shops for the perfect way to say I love you. Kelly poured out her spirit for family, friends and strangers, often working early and late hours at her daughter Amelia’s restaurant, Savor + Sip. Kelly had a smile that would light up your day and used this smile to her advantage while working at Harding University as the secretary for University Communications & Marketing (formerly the Office of Public Relations) for 11 years.
Kelly loved her family and is survived by her husband Mark and daughters, Amelia Brackett Braun and Laine Brackett of Searcy, Arkansas. She will be missed by her four siblings, Molly Feagin (Austin, Texas), Megan Stock (Tyler, Texas), Jeb Holaday (Springboro, Ohio) and Daren Holaday (Franklin, Tennessee) and her parents, Tom and Jill Holaday (Searcy, Arkansas). She was born in the Panama Canal Zone on March 13, 1968, graduated from Vero Beach High School in 1986, and graduated from Harding University in 1989. She was a member of College Church of Christ in Searcy, AR.
Kelly most loved to spend time in her garden, quietly crocheting, brewing kombucha and spending time with those she loved. Kelly passed away from complications of a stroke on July 18, 2019. A memorial fund has been established with proceeds helping Amelia and Laine with expenses and establishing a lasting memorial at Harding University.
