Kevin Adams in a battle against cancer!

The Story

Hello, my name is Mark Carlson, Uncle to Kevin Adams. I am making this go fund me on Kevin’s behalf because he needs all the help, love and support he can get right now. Typically, Kevin is not the type to ask anyone for assistance (financial, physical or emotional), and that’s why we’re asking for him. On 6/27/2022, Kevin was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic renal cell carcinoma, facing what might be the most brutal battle of his life. Yet, with his wife, Jennifer, by his side and his (4) children, Joshua (19), Hannah (16), Katie (11) and Evelyn (4), he is ready to fight. We genuinely believe, Mathew 18:20 Where two or three are gathered together in my name - That is, to worship me. I am in the midst of them - By my Spirit, to quicken their prayers, guide their counsels, and answer their petitions.

The Diagnosis

In early 2021, Kevin was diagnosed with Covid. His case of Covid was not out of the ordinary, and he recovered within a few weeks with some lingering effects, fatigue, shortness of breath and pain in his lower abdomen. After a few months, Kevin went to the doctor to discuss his symptoms. Kevin was told some people infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 can experience long-term effects from their infection, known as post-COVID conditions (PCC) or long COVID. The lingering effects could take up to a year to subside. Accepting this diagnosis, Kevin continued with life the best he could. After a few more months and increasing pain, Kevin returned to his doctor and requested a scan. The diagnosis of Cancer was the last thing he was expecting! Kevin was told he has a 10CM tumor on his Kidney and multiple lung tumors.

The Plan of Attack!

Kevin is waiting for a surgical date to remove his kidney as this is the most pressing of his issues. After the Kidney is removed and he has had sufficient time to heal, Kevin will begin treatment for his Lungs. This treatment will include some chemo pills or radiation (depending upon the treatment plan of his oncologist- to be determined) and Immunotherapy. Immunotherapy is a treatment that uses a person's immune system to fight cancer. Immunotherapy can boost or change how the immune system works so it can find and attack cancer cells.

The Need

Kevin (43) is a Pipe fitter by trade and has worked for TIMEC (specialty welding division) for the past 12 years. He and his family purchased a new home in November of 2021 in Huffman, TX. Kevin is his family's sole income provider and needs our HELP!! You can see how things become overwhelming with a medical deductible of $7,000, co-pays, medicine, and living expenses for a family of (6). Kevin will not be able to work during his treatment and recovery. I can tell you from multiple conversations that Kevin's concern is not his fight but the well-being of his family. Together we can ease his burdens and let Kevin concentrate on his recovery. Kevin is the best father, husband and friend I have ever known and deserves all the support we can give him.
