Kevin Foley's Final Farewell

As many of you know, Kevin “Flash” Foley passed away suddenly on Monday, September 17, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.  Over the last few days, it was readily apparent that he had countless friends and family members that he truly impacted with his larger-than-life personality, his mile-wide smile, his wit, and his kind and generous spirit.  Whether you grew up with him in Saline, competed in tennis with him on the hard courts, or befriended him at the local pub, Kevin was big-hearted and generous with all those who crossed his path.

Although only 45 years young, his life was cut way too short by an untimely and unexpected cardiac event.  For four days, he battled and fought despite being unconscious and being sustained through life support means.  During this time, so many of the individuals that he touched throughout his life, either stopped by to show moral support, or called his loved ones, or posted a funny story about him on social media. Everyone had their own special story about a time or place with Kevin.  Each one was unique and personal, but they all had one thing in common – in the end they made you smile and laugh.  

Given the sudden nature of Kevin’s death, many of you have asked or reached out offering assistance or help in these trying times. To that end, we have decided to commence a Go Fund Me page in Kevin’s honor.  The funds raised from this effort will enable us to give him the farewell he rightfully deserves.  These funds will go directly to cover costs incurred for his final expenses.  In addition, Kevin elected to be an organ donor years ago, and we are grateful that some of his organs will help others.  Funds collected will not only cover his final costs, but a donation will be made to Gift of Life of Michigan as well. 

In closing, thank you for your consideration and support.  We are truly touched by the overwhelming support from his former classmates, colleagues, friends and the community.
