Bridge the gap- Mutual Aid Request

Hello, I'm Phoenix!

I'm asking for help with playing catch up with bills and debt. I'm medically unable to work and while I have applied for disability, the wait is very often months, sometimes years. I haven't been able to work since 2018, and especially with the pandemic and my wife's work situation we're in fairly massive amounts of debt (32k to date). The debt along with having to pay out of pocket for medications (~$400/month) is making it hard to keep up with rent and groceries. Additionally, my room mate is moving and while we'll be getting a new room mate, we need to repay the damage deposit and purchase some household items they'll be taking. 

 

We're hoping that this summer will be busy enough work wise for my wife that we can catch up a little more, but if you're able to help us out in mean time, that'd be great!

2023 Jan Edit: A year later and unfortunately, the situation is still more or less the same! I'm in the middle of an appeal following a rejection to AISH (disability). They denied me (while acknowledging I have a permanent disability) they say I haven't been to enough treatments to prove I'm trying to get better. It will be an uphill battle, unfortunately. If you have the ability to donate, it would be nice if you did! :) If not, consider sharing!

2023 April edit:

Unfortunately, we still have not yet found a roommate and there is no word yet on any of my disability applications.

I may have to consider the costs of getting a low income lawyer to help me fight them as well as preparing to fully pay the costs of renting the house (somewhere between $1400-1700/month dependant on utility costs) until a roommate is found.

Whatever you are able to give is extremely helpful and so appreciated, even if it's just kind words and a share for visibility.

2023 May edit: hurray, we found a roommate until January!

However,

I just got the most bad news about my 2 year long AISH application. I have to withdraw my appeal and submit new evidence but I only have until June 13th to do that anyway. I'll probably have to submit a whole new application and start over completely after that.

It's a lose/lose. I'm not gonna get any back pay to help dig us out of the $40k hole.

Whatever you can send is much appreciated while I fight the battle to get on disability!
