Hello all. This is embarrassing to have to ask for help but I don't know what to do at this point.
My basement apartment was flooded in the Big Sugar House flood this morning. My tenant lost all of his belongings and barely made it out as he swam out of his apartment and was being electrocuted along the way.
The apartment is completely destroyed with all appliances, furniture, and clothing, all the drywall, carpet, electrical ... All gone. Insurance will not cover it.
The positive part is that my tenant, his cat, my dog, and myself are all well and good.
Please do what you can to help.
At this point, not sure if I may have to give up my home if I can't pay to fix this. The entire basement needs to be completely redone and while I am asking for a lot, I am sure it will be a lot more than $25,000.
