Please Support Ellie's Battle and Her Family!

Donation protected
We are family members of the Perkins family; most importantly of Ellie Perkins, an 18-year-old from Hebron, Kentucky who is fighting for her life in a Neurological Intensive Care Unit in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Regardless of whether you have the desire or the means to contribute to Ellie's fight, we ask that you read Ellie's story, and you consider sharing. Unfortunately, sometimes it takes a terrifyingly tragic event to serve as perspective and a reminder to slow down and not take this life we have for granted. We ask that you let Ellie's story serve as a gentle nudge to reach out to those you love; check in, tell them you love them and ask how they are doing. In the end, life is fragile, delicate and can change in the blink of an eye. We all have the gift of being here, in this moment ... don’t wait. Dream big, live without caution, and make memories that you will cherish forever. This life is about relationships and memories. Prayerfully consider supporting Ellie and her family.

Who is Ellie Perkins?

As her family, we have all been fortunate participants and observers of Ellie's life story since the day she was born. We have watched Ellie grow from a fiery, strong-willed, athletic and confident child, into an independent, intelligent and inquisitive young woman who is steadfast in her values, goals and beliefs.

We could gush and go on and on about Ellie, and who she is as a young woman. In short, she is a multitalented 18-year-old, who recently graduated from Connor High School in Hebron, Ky. The list of Ellie's passions and interests is seemingly endless, and it grows daily: her faith, welding, working on both her truck and motorcycle, basketball, fishing, writing music, singing and playing her guitar are just a few. Anything Ellie does, she does so with all of her heart.

Ellie loves her family, her close friends, and her country deeply and fiercely. Ellie graduated with many honors, and with a great deal of dreams and aspirations, but the most important to her was serving her country. Ellie had taken her oath as a Marine and planned to protect and serve this country to her greatest ability. Ellie was firm, confident and unwavering in that belief, and knew that becoming a Marine would be the best way she could fulfill that duty and be loyal to her heart.

What Happened To Ellie?

On Thursday May 30, 2024, Ellie was taken by life flight to UC Medical Center with a traumatic brain injury. She has been fighting for her life every moment since, and she continues to fight the only way Ellie knows how, with all of her heart.

What Will Donations Be Used For:

Given that Ellie has been in the Intensive Care Unit for several days, the current and future medical expenses will only continue to accumulate. She, and her family need more help than we are capable of giving to them. They need more than our time, company, hugs and answers. They are, and will continue to be, in need of financial support.

Our goal is to remove and alleviate as much of the stress and weight of the financial burden they are carrying by creating this Go Fund Me. We ask that you consider donating to Ellie's fight and supporting her family. Your donations, no matter how big or how small, will give her parents the ability to focus on what matters in this moment, and be fully present in how they support and care for not only Ellie, but their two sons as well. The funds will not only go towards the burgeoning medical expenses, but they will also support the daily needs of her parents and brothers as they commute to and from the hospital each day. Please prayerfully consider supporting Ellie and her family as they battle what lies ahead.

Thank you for reading Ellie's story, for sharing her story, for your support and consideration.
