Cecilia Doucette Memorial Fund

On February 7th, 2024, Cecilia Doucette passed away after a long and hard fought battle with cancer. We are a group of close friends and family of Cecilia Doucette called the "Cecilia Fan-Club," and we would like to support her family.
In April of 2022, after two challenging years of a pandemic, Cecilia received the worst possible news that the cancer she had been close to beating had returned.
While starting a new position at work, raising her incredible 8 year old daughter, and working towards having her mom immigrate to Canada, this could not have come at a more difficult time.
Since April 2022, Cecilia underwent chemotherapy and radiation at RVH in Barrie, Ontario. She worked so hard at healing with her strong-willed, spicy attitude, drive, and dedication. With mounting medical-related costs, and the opportunity for out-of-country treatment options, the "Cecilia Fan-Club" came together to raise funds to help her family during this time of need.
When we say that she was the first to help out anyone in need - that is an understatement. She showed up at people's homes when they were sick with "pick me ups," when they were healthy with baked goods, and was a positive, inspiring person every day.
We want to raise funds to help her family during this challenging time. The cost to access medical treatment, care and support in her home while she fought this battle has had major financial implications for this family.
We want to ensure that Amaya has the life that Cecilia dreamed for her and worked so hard to create. Amaya deserves the World and every opportunity so please consider donating today.
Cecilia moved to Canada from Guatemala to be with her husband Mark; together, they have made a beautiful life and daughter Amaya. Cecilia worked at Georgian College, supporting Newcomers, Immigrants, Refugees and International student entrepreneurs in starting and growing businesses. The positive impact that she had on our community has rippled effects today.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 for Cecilia's family.
Please feel free to share this with others. Barrie Sharks Families, Barrie Colts Families, Georgian College Families, Entrepreneurs, and Community Members - please help us to reach our goal.
