Let’s help Akima get back on her feet!

Dear family and friends of Akima Dryden,

On November 16th, 2022, the day before her sister's wedding, Akima’s world was turned upside down. Her body was in septic shock from a previously unknown bacterial infection. She made it to an emergency room just in time and was quickly placed on life-sustaining support for five days. Unfortunately, the complications that arise from life-saving measures can be significant, and her kidneys took a big hit. She will be on dialysis for the foreseeable future while they heal. Akima suffered a series of small strokes that affected one side of her body. Because of this, there is no way to say if or when she will return to work.

Anyone who has met Akima knows the joy she brings to life. She is the rock to so many in her life. Her son, husband, parents, siblings, aunts/uncles, & friends are all involved with getting her better—but we could use a little extra help. As most people know, the financial burden of hospitalizations is huge, so we ask if anyone has a little extra this season to donate to Akima’s healing process. All contributions will go directly to medical care.
