Let’s Help Palmer ♥️

The Swafford Family is thankful for everyone’s love and prayers. They’re overwhelmed with the outpouring support they continue to receive. They can’t thank you enough for all the kind words and messages.

I would like to take a moment to share a little bit of background on everything that our sweet little guy has endured in his short 11 months.

Palmer has had a rough start to life from the beginning. In January, Palmer was hospitalized for digestive and dermatology issues. After extensive testing, Palmer was diagnosed with anaphylactic dairy allergy. Little did we know at the time that this was just the beginning of many more severe food allergies. In April, he started to have GI bleeding, severe stomach pain, reflux and constant reactions to things that were unknown.

In June, Palmer had a broader skin test done to see what additional allergies he had since he was continuing to have reactions daily. His reactions were starting to occur more frequently. Before, it was daily then every 4-6 hours to hourly. We all just felt so helpless watching him in agonizing pain. As suspected, the skin test results showed he had a plethora of more food and environmental allergies.

Palmer is currently seeing a GI, Dermatologist, Dietician, Allergist and just added Immunology.

GI ordered a panel of blood work last week. We got the results pretty quick. His WBC and platelets both are showing high. There was an additional test the GI ordered, Tryptase, this specifically tests for The Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and Mastocytosis (a very rare type of leukemia), this was sent out to be tested so we just got these results back on Tuesday. Those results came back high as well.

A team at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester reviewed our case and wants to take Palmer on as a patient. We all were so emotional when my daughter got the call they wanted to take Palmers case. We have been praying for guidance. Unfortunately, at this time, the Mayo Clinic does not take my their medical insurance. The out of pocket expense is $10,000 per visit. Right now, my they are not sure how many visits they will be making. We will know more after Palmers first visit and they get a diagnoses to what the treatment plan will look like. We are asking to help ease the burden of costs for the Swafford Family. Anything helps and is greatly appreciated!

Please keep Palmer and his family in your prayers for wisdom and strength.

Thank you from the bottoms of our heart!
