Lost our baby brother to a drunk reckless driver
Friday night (October 9th 2020) two vehicles decided to race from udall park area in Tucson on Tanque verde East bound over the bridge where the overpass crosses Pantano to continue on towards bear canyon. One driver (the driver of the Jeep) was intoxicated and swerving in and out of his lane when he lost control and jumped the median and then collided head on into another car traveling in the opposite direction (west bound). That driver was our baby brother. 20 years old and about to be 21 at the end of this month. His whole life in front of him and it was taken away in an instant because two people wanted to not only race vehicles but also drive while impaired. We will never get to see our loved one again because of their dumb decisions. The other racer/driver who wasn’t in the Jeep got to drive away that night unscathed. I just hope whoever he is and wherever he is, that this haunts him for the rest of his life. I’ll never understand why god decided to take our baby brother instead of the other driver(s). Please do always think twice every time when getting behind a wheel. Our hearts are forever broken.
We are all so sick and mad and sad and confused and that will probably take forever to heal (if it ever does) but to see how many people have shared his story on Facebook to be a voice for Adam and help raise awareness to the dangers of wreckless/drunk driving.. it’s nice to see in a world where there’s so much darkness that some light still shines through from strangers hearts. You are all amazing. && Thank you to all who loved him.
Adam was only 20 years old and was the last child living with our mother. He was and always will be her baby. She is completely devastated & My husband and I are starting this go fund me to help ease some of the burden on her shoulders, even if it’s only a little bit.
We will be using this money to not only give our brother the greatest send off to heaven that we can, but to also put something together in the median to ensure that something like this never has to happen again. We would love to honor Adam with some sort of permanent statue or memorial in the median where the Jeep jumped into oncoming traffic.. not only would that keep this from happening again but it would also be such a beautiful way to remember our baby brother and all that loved him.
Again, thank you all. & God bless.
