Love and Support for David Hodges

This is my dear friend, David Hodges. He is 55 years old and was diagnosed with Pappilary Cell Type II Renal Cancer in 2013. In April of 2014, he had his left kidney removed.
David did well for over a year until the cancer returned and attacked his lymph nodes. Treatment options were minimal and in 2016, David underwent a second surgery to remove 4 cancerous lymph nodes and two clean ones (to be safe).
The two following scans continued to show tumor growth throughout his body and lymphatic system.
David does not have access to employer provided insurance and pays over $900 each month just to maintain medical coverage on his own. In addition to this, any ER visit carries a copay of $600 and his infusion visits have a copay if $65.00 plus the tremendous cost of lab work and unforeseen issues that arise frequently that his insurance does not cover.
David seemed to be getting much better before Christmas 2018 with his infusions and the regime of medications and treatments prescribed by his doctors (another tremendous monthly expense).
David was unable to pay his insurance premiums in December and January and missed multiple treatments and doctor visits and was not able to afford his medications. As a result, all of the tumors began to grow quickly. One of the largest more than doubled in size - causing him tremendous pain.
After paying his premium he has undergone radiation and began his infusion treatments, but now he is looking at dozens of terrible side effects (painful mouth ulcers, nausea, dehydration, fatigue, and serious weight loss).
His latest premium is past due and through all of this, David continues to try to work in order to maintain this tremendous financial burden (He would never ask for help).
If you know David, you know a selfless man who has spent his life in service to his God and in service to others.
David is a light to so many people both locally and internationally as he has been on several mission trips and is extremely active in Sunday School Class and Church at - Veatavia Hills United Methodist. He has worked countless Emmaus and Chrysalis weekends and gives whenever there is a need. He ministers to others at every opportunity. He is one of the most humble and loving spirits I have ever known and I have never met anyone who did not love him.
Seeing him struggle to maintain the medical costs associated with his ongoing battle against cancer has been a burden on my heart for more than a year. The truth is- without his insurance, he will no longer be able to obtain the medications and treatments that are keeping him alive and helping him to heal. I hope and pray that you will join me in supporting David as he continues to fight this terrible disease!
