Lower the price of organic foods

As a class project, my classmates and I had to choose an action project to pursue, so we chose to fundraise for the Alameda Food Bank with the goal of increasing donations of organic food. Our mission is to improve access to nutritious food in low-income communities. Organic produce and other healthy options are often too expensive for families struggling economically. This lack of access contributes to higher rates of diet-related illnesses. By fundraising specifically for organic food donations, we hope to get wholesome, fresh food onto the tables of those most in need while reducing the burden of cost. More organic options at local food banks and pantries means more opportunities for underserved residents to eat right and stay well.
