Margaret's Dream Trip: NYC & Paris
Donation protected
Margaret Hardin is turning 102 on July 15, 2015! When asked what dream she had yet to realize, she said she had always wanted to go to New York to take in a Broadway Show and see Paris! Her Doctor has given her the ok to travel and her grand-daughter can accompany her on this trip. We are having a Paris-themed birthday party on July 15 and I would love to be able to hand her tickets to New York and Paris and make her last dream come true! Margaret was born in New Orleans. At the tender age of 13, she travelled alone to Seattle by train for 5 days . She left behind all friends and family and never saw them again. Because of the color of her skin, she wasn't allowed in the dining car. Luckily, a nice Porter snuck food to her during the remainder of the trip. Margaret has worked all of her life as a seamstress and remained a faithful member of the AME church for 65 years. She currently lives in an Assisted Living community and is very active there. She even ties baby blankets and sews labels on them to donate to children's charities and the homeless. Margaret keeps her mind sharp by working on 1000 peice puzzles and always has words of wisdom to share. She is an avid baseball and football fan - loves her Mariner's and Seahawks! Please help us make her dream come true!
