Mario Jenkins road to NFL
Donation protected
Hi I’m Mario Jenkins, 23 years-old, and have been playing football from a young age. I have been fortunate enough to spend the last 5 years playing football at Idaho State University. As a redshirt freshman I was named the starting linebacker 24 hours before the season opener at Utah and I never relinquished the position. As the year went on I was a finalist for the Jerry Rice award, an honor that went to the best freshman in FCS football, and finished fourth in the voting and ISU ended the year 8-4. Fast forward to my Senior year, where I ended the season as the top tackler in the Big Sky Conference and one of the best in the nation, and was added to the Buck Buchanan Watch list, an award that goes to the top defender in FCS football.
I have come to a point where I can now look at playing professionally. My dream has always been to play in the NFL, and now that could soon become a reality. By supporting me, I will be able to begin pursuing the chance to live this dream and compete for a spot amongst others in the upcoming NFL Draft in April. I plan to move to a city with high-caliber speed and strength trainers with a focus on NFL combine drills. I also plan to work part to full time to support my endeavors; however, the living expenses and training fees are beyond my capacity, so reaching this goal is of huge importance. The funds that you contribute will help me with rent, food (as I’m a very disciplined eater) training expenses and travel related expenses to be seen by agents and scouts across the U.S. I graduate from college in December with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and plan to attend grad school and get into the physical therapy program once done playing in the NFL. This will allow me the opportunity to do what I love to do and give back to the community, the way people gave back to me when I went through my own ACL injury in 2015.
Any help that you could spare would be incredibly appreciated, and it would be great to say, when I play in my first NFL game, that you were a part of helping me do that! Thank you so much.
