Martin O'Neill surgical mesh removal

Donation protected
Seven years ago Martin O'Neill went into hospital for a hernia repair to his groin. From the moment he woke up from anaesthetic he knew something was wrong.

The hernia was repaired using a very common method of a synthetic mesh. This became infected and what was to follow was seven years of agony and muscle spasms and after several operations to try and correct what went wrong, Martin was left with reduced mobilty and has been robbed of a young mans life. People who know Martin knows he has went from an outgoing lovable Jack Black like character lead singer in an up and coming band to a shadow of his former self and despite what he is going through he has remained positive and optimistic that an operation he has been waiting for in Germany will hopefully put him back on track.

I have called the ambulance for Martin on numerous occasions after hearing him scream in pain and to find him immobile due to muscle spasms.

On Saturday 19th June he flew to Munich for his mesh removal operation and had his pre op assesment only to be told on the day of the operation that Germany covid contact and trace class Jersey Channel Islands as part of the U.K. and as such has to isolate for 14 days before he can be operated on even though he has had two negative covid tests.

This fund raising page is to assist Martin with his extended stay in Germany and limited financial resources.
